Day : 1 – 29th May
Well it’s a start. 4.45Km of flat walking, look it was 6:00am!
What’s impressive is the data from the Nike+ SportBand, and although I can’t talk to it’s accuracy of distance I am impressed that it captures so many data points.
Apart from being a bit cold, and someone has suggested gloves, this was a good day 1.
101.6KG according to the scales this morning. This can’t continue.
Day : 2 – 30th May
Consecutive days. Same route.
Same time.
Same result.
100.6Kg though, can’t puzzle out the scales.
Day : 3 – 31st May
As you can see all over the show like a mad woman hair on my walk today. It was a singleton, MrsPdubyah pulled the “I’m not a morning person” card to get out of joining me, and a whole 30 seconds a km faster! Woot!
I dressed warmer too, gloves and a light top. Made a big difference
Sore shins though, not sure what that’s about
Day 4: 1st June
MrsPdubyah joined me today for this walk, guilt-tripped into it after yesterday’s debacle
Still sore shins, I think it’s either over striding or just plain old muscle spasm from inactivity for years
Scales says 100:0 Kg today too, that’s either real or I’m having problems with fluid retention at the beginning of the week, and beer-free-me during the week sorts it out.
Still bit of a win.
Day 5: 10th June
See what I did there, missed a few days. Not good really.
I’ll excuse myself due to my medical condition of lazy
But today back onto it. Actually it’s been raining in the morning MrsPdubyah has been unwell sand so on . Onwards!.
Of purse the scales are against me, still at 101.6Kg
Day 6: 12th June, day off for Monday
’twas a lovely walk, except that the machine was on pause for a bit, and only the lord knows what happened for the final mooching bit at the end.
But it was dandy.
Day 7: 14th June, skip a day
It’s frosty as a frosty thing this morning. My knee is a shocker and is so sore that I can’t bend to take my shoe off
Day 1 (Again) : 10th November

A Broken toe and some short time later then we get to the 10th November – it’s been a while.
Down to 99Kg though in the meantime, have to confess that it did balloon to just under 105.Kg
So the new Nike+ GPS Watch thing says 4.5Km in 38:31 at 8.28Avg pace. Which is a fair clip compared to walk version 1.
Day 2 – 11th November
I found out that a night where you sleep crooked is not the best way to enjoy walking. I don’t know that I’m enjoying the sore neck that I have.
Plus tragically I listened to the latest Robbie Williams CD- Take the Crown. Take the biscuit more like. It’s a set of 3 -6 word “chants” with a background of “anthem” style 80′s pop synthesiser music, lyrics from the secret diary of a pre-pubescent teen. This really is filling in time in a contract. there is no heart soul or reason for this trash. That said I’m not really the target audience.
4.5km in a 39:58 time, 8:45 average. Average is about right.
Day 3 – 15th November
4.5Km in 39:09, with an 8:31 Average Woo Hoo
Today I took with me MUSE and the 2nd Law.
This would account for the sprightly pace and smile on my face, it’s a good album (the 40 minutes I got through), and so I’m going to finish that album and set it on start again.
And..
Day 4, is it? 21st November how time flies
6.18Kms or 2 laps of the lake at Panmure
It’s mostly flat so no real elevation changes, and it makes a nice change from concrete canyons.
I’ll take the 8.27 average though.
1st December.
Got a wriggle on at one point and had a 7.43 for 1Km, wooop!
Despite a few days away, eating and sleeping badly I’ve done ok, the weight thing is heading downwards, at a medium pace, but it is below 100kg
New Thin me is in here somewhere, probably where old thin me was.

The Less of Me January: So far
Distance walked in increasing slightly, I’m internally competitive and so 7km is my current benchmark for a walk, that’s just over 4 miles, and it’s about an hour.
I’m struggling with sore shins, which is over-striding, so I’m working at that, and mu knees don’t appear to be up for a run of any great distance, I’m taking advice on that
At around 2Kms I have a sweat on, I might have to try harder in those first 2 kms
Weight loss is minimal, but is a net loss
I miss the walking when I haven’t done it

Middle of February 2013
So I re-read the previous posts 105Kg, today the scales said 97.4, which is a bit of a win.
The 79.61 kms so far compares to the 86km I walked in January, and there a few more days to go.
1st March the update for February : I got to 17 walks, for over 102Kms and that took 14 1/2 hours
I’ve crept down to 97Kg from 105Kg, which is slightly faster than I’d hoped for, was sort of aiming for 1kg a month, for a slow decline rather than a fasting and hope diet.
March Update :
- 16 Runs
- 95.65kms in total
- 5.98kms average per walk-out
- Fastest 5km was 35:54, when you consider back in January this was 47:39
- Weight 96 – 96.4kg
Although the chart above is wrong!, count the gree lines you’ll see 16, I have no idea what one it thinks is missing.
April
Annoying close to 100 kms again
Weight slowly coming down.
Have a new pair of New Balance Minimus Shoes that seem to be going ok
Although I still tighten up around the ankles/calves after a couple hours. I have to work on this as it’s not a good thing.
