Calories and Standard Drink units in your Beer?

It’s not my own work, it never is, but I did have an original thought once.

Units of Drink Calculator

If you’re looking for a Unit of Drink Calculator, I use this one;

A Definition of “A Standard drink” is here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard_drink

Standard drinks as defined by various countries

The amount of alcohol is stated in the table in both grams and millilitres. The number of standard drinks contained in 500ml of beer of 5%ABV (a typical large drink of beer) is stated for comparison.

Country Mass (g) Volume (ml) 500 ml beer contains

  • Men should drink no more than 21 units of alcohol per week, no more than four units in any one day, and have at least two alcohol-free days a week.
  • Women should drink no more than 14 units of alcohol per week, no more than three units in any one day, and have at least two alcohol-free days a week.
  • Pregnant women. Advice from the Department of Health states that … “pregnant women or women trying to conceive should not drink alcohol at all. If they do choose to drink, to minimise the risk to the baby, they should not drink more than 1-2 units of alcohol once or twice a week and should not get drunk”

Calories in Beer

Where I write about “Calories in beer” I might mention “Per serve” being, in my thinking, a 355ml or 12FL Oz serve, or I’ll just quess the total amount in the bottle.

  • 1 US Fl. Oz = 30ml giver take  a take a tad
