Just when I thought I’d stayed awake enough, along came Transmutation…

Except, of course, and it’s my rules, is that this is duplication of something, water into wine, lead into gold.

Duplication because in my rules you have to have the one thing to make duplicate. This is great if you want to do the water into wine, a bit useless if you want to duplicate things that have serial numbers, bank notes, gold ingots, technology things. Coins though, you could end up with Scrooge McDuck mountains of gold coins. Explain that to the bank.

You leap forward, or sideways, and how about duplicating a living creature.

Complicate this and decide that you have to have exact weight for weight, volume for volume matches, make it even more granular and make it an exact weigh. Exact.

So coins, wine, inanimate things fine, even the thought of popping into the jewellers and knocking off your own high end piece to walk out with, a duplicate of the one they’ll sell, no warranty of course, but then disposable right.

Also of course, drugs, imagine unlimited high end medicine drugs, that’d be something. Sadly also unlimited oil/ petrol hardly the fantasy electric car dream, but you could duplicate a car if you had a mind to, but perhaps they’d notice you drive up in the Beetle and out with the Bentley.
