Just like you, but different
Numerical OCD me says pick a beer that might make you grin a bit – so I went with Bach Brewing and the Duskrider – a Red IPA
500ml bottle 6%ABV, 2.4 standard drink units in NZ, and this 180 calories a serve, 220ish the bottle
DuskRider is brewed with specialty malts for a ruby-red hue, and a hop forward fix of tropical fruits and citrus from US Cascade, Amarillo, Citra and Nelson Sauvin.
I’m told this is worth drinking.
Strong hoppy aroma like an IPA should have (see previous review it’s not an inside joke), sweetness too.
Lovely chestnut brown pour with a firm and persistent head. Aroma of grassiness blooms in the glass.
Wow, that’s full of bitterness and grassiness ,and middle and a finish that is almost tongue clucking dry. Get in!
For an IPA in a crowded field this has settled at a high position, it doesn’t have a super dry finish and the bitterness is at the level that is entertaining to the palate and not over-riding it.
If I had this at the bach (beach house) then I’d be a happy happy camper
What a lovely and fulfilling beer this is, it’s on point is what it is.
At this point, should anyone from the brewer be reading (in my dreams) sort your web site out, seriously you paid good money for it, you need to spend an hour or two making it up to date, it’s important.
The pdubyah-o-meter rates this as 9 a of its things from the thing. It’s nicely rounded and well delivered, it’s bitter, mellow and has a bit of travel making it an enjoyable mouthful each time.
The double dip review
Still drinking with The New Pornographers – this (still) from their new album – Brill Bruisers – the track of the same name. Album on rotate gets more enjoyable for its poppyness and easy lyrics and great vocals.
India Pale Ale gets its name and unique style from British brewers who were making beer for export to India. This style has an intense hop flavor which was used to preserve the beer for the long voyage. India Pale Ale has a golden to copper color with a medium maltiness and body. The aroma is moderate to very strong. IPAs work especially well at cutting the heat of chili, vindaloo or Sichuan cuisine.
