For no reason at all I’ve found myself watching youtube clips of varying length, quality and content with regard to the well documented assassination of a John F. Kennedy, President.

Some of it I enjoyed, some shocked me, some surprised me, and some made me laugh.

Some of the things I learnt though;

After watching some of the clips and listening to some of the theories it would be easy to buy into the shot from in-front and from the right (the knoll).

From many years ago  I remember reading a book “Mortal Error”  (1992) that claimed the final shot came from a secret service agent, George Hickey, in a car travelling behind, by accident as he turned in reaction to a shot from the TSBD building (Oswald), squeezed the trigger on his service rifle by mistake and well that ended badly.

I like that theory, it seemed poetic in a weird way.

It is clear that there was a lot of confusion at the time, and that just gets worse over time.

It’s also clear that this is a fantastic playground for the conspiracy theorists, and it doesn’t include aliens, ufo’s, or area 51.

I’ll get to them later.

In the meantime : I watched the documentary “Oswald’s Ghost” which is very good at playing it straight up the middle. in summary though, Oswald was not a simple man, and had the drive and passion to do something grand, Ruby was opportunistic, and everything else is wishful thinking.

    Yes, and the twin towers are still standing, Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe are alive and well and living on an island in the South Pacific, we never went to the moon …

    These kinds of theories are fascinating, aren’t they?

      The variety as well as the volume, and the absolute conviction in some of them is amazing.

        Yes, you’re the idiot for not believing them. I just marvel at these people. There’s a video out there of some Tea Party protesters outside the White House earlier this week. One of them is caught on tape saying to hang the lying, Kenyan traitor — referring of course to our President. It boggles my mind that people still think he is Kenyan, are comfortable calling him a traitor, and then allow themselves to be caught on tape saying he should be hung. That’s the kind of mindset we’re dealing with with all of these idiotic conspiracies. I’m assuming you do know that the earth actually is flat.

    AndI its hilarious in the fact that Obama can’t be president again, he’s outta there at the end of this term right, but lets keep protesting and call for impeachment.

    We all like a conspiracy though, which is why things like house of cards, game of thrones, and a myriad of movies (not that one with Mel Gibson though) with conspiracy as their theme. It’s all about patterns and inference.

    Personally I don’t think Armstrong was the “first” man on the moon, but that’s a whole other story.
