You can only get this in a keg version, and it strictly then doesn’t meet the “beer you can buy” if you wanted to be picky. I’m sure there are others in the list though, I’ve never really thought about it, except when I was thinking ‘why am I doing this?’. Hey ho.
” (Might of)…named this after seeing Elijah Wood do karaoke opposite Malthouse..”
From the Fill station a 1 litre bottle of a beer that is 7.5% ABV, about 230 calories a serve size, and this would be 6.92 standard drink units. Oh and there are 70 IBU things in there too.
Brewed by Rocky Knob Brewing and that might have been done in Mt Maunganui, New Zealand and of course this is in the Style that is India Pale Ale (IPA).

Hoppy Balanced sessionable IPA
No slothing about on this one!
Big aroma, big flavour – grapefruit and floral all on show!
Eat your heart out Peter Griffin!
So, what could possibly go wrong?
Dull thud og grassy hop on popping that top.
Lovely pour with a lovely white firm head of a decent size and it’s bright white not tinged or coloured. Aroma really kicks on in the glass, it’s a lovely soft envelop of grassiness.
Bitter bt not bitingly so, and it really is full of a cult body that carries the bitterness to a simple dry finish but sugar coated. I could get up and dance to that.
Lovely tropical taste about it and led with some sharp notes like grapefruit (overtaking Passion Fruit as my go-to flavour).
Really nice this is, pleasingly bitter, and with a lovely sweetness about it an a finish that is both slightly dry and sugary soaring as well. A Bit of a winner.
They said Seasonable, I saw 7.5% ABV, I laughed. Not laughing now, this is readily drinkable.
Which could end badly, there is nothing in this that would help you towards knowing that it’s somewhat stronger than you might be expecting, and it is a well behaved beer too, don’t leave you worn out from hop assault, to in a sugar coma, it’s just easy drinking.
I even let this warm a fair deal, you know to see how much it changed, it doesn’t really, mostly, there is a bit more earthiness in it, but not so much that you’d send it back .
Second glass, well that trend humorous as I managed a 75/25 beer and head, but I was patient and let it think about what it’d done for a bit.
The pdubyah-o-meter rates this as 9 of its things from the thing. Only my 4th beer from the Rocky Knob people and they’re 3 at 9 and an 8 That’s remarkable in two respects, I’d have said I’d have had more than 4 of their beers, and that they’re pretty consistently good.

India Pale Ale gets its name and unique style from British brewers who were making beer for export to India. This style has an intense hop flavor which was used to preserve the beer for the long voyage. India Pale Ale has a golden to copper color with a medium maltiness and body. The aroma is moderate to very strong. IPAs work especially well at cutting the heat of chili, vindaloo or Sichuan cuisine.
