Herevana – Baylands – IPL

I love me a good IPL, and I smile when I find one, and oh I found one – the Baylands IPL

Baylands Brewery make the Baylands IPL in 🇳🇿 Lower Hutt, New Zealand and it’s probably best covered bu the style that is Pale Lager – Hoppy / India (IPL) with a 6.0% ABV and some 18 IBU

More cans around, less bottles, I’m sure there are reason of economy and convenience. I don’t mind the beer-coins end up going further as cans tend towards the more affordable end of purchasing, mostly.

Super hoppy on opening, and a lovely clear yellow gold pour with a lovely whiteness of head. The aroma is the same in the glass, cut grass, dank, all those things.

There’s not a lot of ‘bite’ in this as a Lager might have, but it is packed with lots of fruitiness of flavour.

The Pdubyah-o-meter rates this as 8 on the arbitrary number scale, this is really really nice hoppy lager beer, with lots of flavour but without added bitterness, or bite. I’d like more bite if it was me. That aside this is rather nice and I could see this being in the fridge again, as soon I get back to the shop.

Our Lager upgraded with more flavour and higher ABV but no bitterness.

Herevana beers are those I drink at home, I’m not at some beer festival, like, for instance, Beervana, but am just in my kitchen, usually, dining room table, sometimes, or outside, occasionally, where I can take an average picture and write in real time about the beer that I’ve invested in, both in a monetary and emotional way.
