Kereru Moose Maybe! an Unfiltered Red IPA, should there really be a thing, a bit like a Southland Moose. Anyway some bubbles in my Sunday bubble.

Moose Maybe! is in a 500ml bottle, a beer that is 6.2% ABV and with 55 IBU things, which is around that 186 calories a serve size. This is 2.4 standard drinks in NZ
Moose Maybe! Hazy Red IPA is a juicy, unfiltered beer.
Bursting with fruity American El Dorado and Mosaic hops with a complex malty backbone of red malts, wheat and oats.
Ten moose were released into New Zealand’s Fiordland National Park back in 1910, were thought extinct in 1940, but ever since there have been moose signs & sightings.
Some very recently. So, moose maybe!
So, What could possibly go wrong?
The clocks changing to daylight saving or something has made the day even more confusing than usual, and I seemed to have missed a meal somewhere, like I needed more food.
This has a full bitter IPA aroma on opening, like big and wild big.
The pour is of a beer that is ore brown than red, like I was expecting a red beer, I think I need to get out more, anyway it looks grand in the glass, and there is enough of a off white head to bring a wry smile to my dial.
The aroma is still towards hard malt and there seems to be a peppery note about it that catches at the back of the throat. (not as bad as yesterday and the Whisky beer).
That’s really quite dense with a truck load of mail and brings with it a lovely bitterness underneath that dash roughshod over your palate to a grandstand finish, That bitterness has quite a long linger.
I read on the brewery site that this beer was late in some way, and I think that it might have just been pushed though a little early as it is now. Don’t take that as a bad sign, they are committed to a schedule which is magnificent.
The pdubyah-o-meter rates this as 8 of its things from the thing. This is lovely. Another great beer of the month from Kereru,. it has the best aroma in a beer that you could get, it looks lovely in the glass, leaves a lovely lacing when you drink it, has a banging amount of malt and hops that wash over you like a bracing wave, it’s magnificent.

- Would I share with a friend on a porch and set the world to rights? Yes, again this is another great beer to drink, lots to admire and talk about, from that outstanding aroma, its lovely lacing and that wonderful mouthfeel journey.
