A life just as ordinary

Just like you, but different

Herevana – GABS Edition – 8 Wired – Welcome to Tijuana

That’s right, a proper beer festival beer Pack for my Herevana experience. Herevana, a beer festival at my place.

Because they’re in a list that I might or might not follow I started with the Sours, and then I thought lagers and then the Pale and IPA’s – The Saturday session has started and I’m the line for a Lager

8 Wired Brewing make the 8 Wired Welcome To Tijuana North of Auckland in 🇳🇿 Warkworth, New Zealand, adn this one is an Amber Lager – International / Vienna  with an ABV of 5.0%, and around 150 calories a serve size.

8 Wired Welcome to Tijuana Lime Lager A Baja inspired lager brewed to quench the heat of our sultry summer evenings. Kick off your jandals, soak up some sun and enjoy a refreshing cerveza with a squeeze of juicy lime, muy bueno

8 Wired generally make brilliant beers, they found their groove and by and large they’ve stuck to it. A Lime Lager sounds rather tame though. I don’t have to wait long though do I, I am master of my own festival.

If you’re wondering where all the Limes went I can all you, thery’re in here. A very pale hazy yellow pour of a beer with scant head, but with a Lime aroma that’s at least 11.

The limes seem to be adding a pithy dryness to this, more a pithy taste than a dryness, this is a lovely beer that challenges what you think you’re getting and what you are getting. A rather strange beer.

That sense of pithy dryness and there’s this actual dryness in this right at the end, a strange beer where you keep sipping and supping and verge on the quaff, it pulls you in in some mysterious way.

The Pdubyah-o-meter rates this as 8 on the arbitrary number scale. Apart from the Limes and that intriguing pithy dryness this really does not bring much to the table, There’s no room for any super-lager cleverness to get a look in. But I drank it quicker than I should, so there’s that.

I’m listening to a playlist called Indie Covers on the Spotify player, think of it as takes on a style :-), then think that sometimes you shouldn’t have done that.

The Top 8
1. Behemoth – Just a Little Slice
2. Duncan’s Boysenberry and Chocolate Ripple
3. 8 Wired Welcome To Tijuana
4. Emerson’s Hell Yeah!

The GABS Invitational pack brings you a true “Craft Beer Summer in a Box” and features eight carefully curated craft beers that won’t be found anywhere else including Just A Little Slice Cheesecake Sour from Behemoth, Double Boysenberry & Chocolate Ripple Sour from Duncan’s, Mos Definitely Hazy Mosaic IPA from Funk Estate, Luz Grapefruit Brut IPA from Urbanaut, Aotearoa IPA Series #17 Hazy Riwaka from Sawmill, Zenith Hazy IPA from Deep Creek, Welcome to Tijuana Lime Lager from 8 Wired and Hell Yeah! Helles Lager from Emerson’s.

Herevana beers are those I drink at home, I’m not at some beer festival, like, for instance, Beervana, but am just in my kitchen, usually, dining room table, sometimes, or outside, occasionally, where I can take an average picture and write in real time about the beer that I’ve invested in, both in a monetary and emotional way.

Philip himself.
